8mm digital > DVD

Jason has some old 8mm digital camcorder tapes he’d like moved over to DVD.
After 10 minutes with Google, it looked like the process would be to take the video out from an 8mm camcorder into the A/V-in of a newer camcorder (setup in “pass-thru” mode). Take the firewire output of the new camcorder into the PowerBook (iMovie).
Pretty much everything this guy did. Wonder if I could get away with getting two 30″ Cinema Displays for this project? 
Well with any luck this camera that my father sent will work like he said and I’ll be able to hook it up to my computer and extract the video and then just use nero to convert it and burn it to a dvd. I already ordered the cleaning tape from amazon….
