Apple is poised to deliver its first Intel systems a full six months earlier than first expected. Think Secret was first to report in November that an Intel-based iBook would see the day of light for the first time in San Francisco. Since our initial report, sources have added that the new iBook will apparently be equipped with a 13.3-inch widescreen display, replacing the current 14.1-inch model. A 12.1-inch model is expected to remain as well. While unconfirmed, it is widely expected that the iBook will receive a significant design revamp with the new model, including a thinner enclosure.
The Mac mini will be refashioned as the centerpiece of the digital hub, Think Secret first disclosed in late November. The reborn Mac mini appears likely to feature DVR functionality and revamped Front Row software.
Apple is expected to release all-new versions of the iLife components, along with a new member of the product family, iWeb, sources have said. iWeb will facilitate putting content online, but details beyond that are uncertain.
The iPod shuffle, first introduced last year at Macworld Expo San Francisco, will receive its first update this week. Exact details are unknown, though sources report that at least a black version, and possibly other colors, could be available to customers. The new shuffle may be marginally smaller and could pack a single line screen, although Think Secret has been unable to confirm either of those details.
But how much, and what is the processor speed????
ooooo a prettier shuffle huh???
What, no Tablet?
Apple is well overdue to deliver a PDA or tablet device.
Argh, ~30 minutes to go!
(GOD I want the new Treo 700w!)
I think that PDAs might be going the way of the dodo bird as more and more folks discover how flipping handy it is to have a converged phone PDA device. Well, at least T-Mobile folks. They’re the only carrier that sells an affordable data plan.
I’ve always thought tablets were pretty cool, but I think I’d want to “test drive” one for a few days before pulling the trigger and buying one. Very little of what I do now would be enhanced if I brought my penmanship into it.
Dont worry I’ll let you touch mine when I get it

The new iLife suite sounds like it’s gonna be hot, especially the new iWeb app. $79 for a single upgrade, or $99 for a family upgrade (up to 5 computers). I think if more software came with pricetags like that, there’d be a whole lot less piracy in the world.
I’m glad I didn’t bite when I had the urge to buy an iMac last month — Apple just released the Intel version (w/ Core Duo processors). Same design, same features, same price, but 2-3x faster.
Oh fuck me.
MacBook Pro
A laptop that’s 4x-5x faster than the ones we just bought. It’s thinner with a brighter screen.
Built-in iSight camera. Built-in IR sensor and Front Row.
Magnetic power supply so that if someone trips on the power supply, it’ll pop off the notebook without moving the notebook. (i.e your notebook won’t go flying)
(puts wallet away) … new laptop won’t be out until next month. Whew!
hahaha. so how fast are you ordering the new one and ebaying the old one??
I’ve been half tempted to do that with my laptop….. speaking of I need to get a new power cord for it
Drool
you mean there wasnt an annoucement for a new thumb nail sized iPod with enough memory to store the entire internet on??
I’m disappointed…..
And no tablet.
Of course, there’s a new Toshiba Tablet (M-400, and one has my name on it) with dual core processors, but I’m sure it’s not as zippy fast as those new mac’s.
Wow, lots of clammoring from pissed off Apple users (on the popular Apple forums) that there was no tablet announced. Who knew?
Hmm… check this out.. I’m not sure if this is a scam or not. But it looks really neat.

Well it looks like you won’t be running Windows XP on the new Intel based Macs for a while, if ever. Vista maybe…
