So I’ve been so dead-set on our next vehicle being an Element, … until we test drove a Chevy HHR tonight. !@#$
My only gripes about the Element are the MGP (22 city, 24 highway — nice range, eh) and that I can’t easily read the speedometer when I have the seat in the most comfortable position. That, and the suicide doors. I love ‘em, but rear passengers don’t always.
Enter the Chevy HHR. MPG = 22 city, 30 highway. Very easy to read (and cool looking) instrument panel, complete with one of those little computer thingies that tells you everything (temperature, avg mileage, distance until you need more gas, etc). 4 doors, and way more storage than either our Jeep or Cavalier, but nowhere nearly as much as the Element. It’s also a “first year” car, which is the reason we ended up dumping our ‘03 Element. Decisions, decisions.
Madonna has some cool thoughts on relationships, and her son is a real cutie. Who knew?
Oh, and apparently Jerry’s new Wednesday night ritual is to disappear. Fucker went AWOL again last night. Now that it’s cold outside, if he expects us to leave the door cracked for his happy ass to wander back at his convenience, he’s going to start paying some of the utilities around here.

Wooo HHR. Kinda yummy, especially in that burnt orange color. Since our car is paid off, I’ve (not we) have been oogling it. That and the oddly plebian Chevy Malibu MAXX. I hear the MAXX gets great gas mileage for a average car.
HHR???? WTF??? can anyone say PT Cruiser from chevy??? NOnoNOnoNOOOO!…….. for god sake, check out the new ford fusion23/31 mpg , or the five hundred with 21/29mpg… i mean geez… its a cavalier in an ungly outfit!!!!! what about a mazda 3 with 28/35 mpg or the mazda 6 with 23/31 there are much better cars out there with better gas mileage that are so much better looking, come on big J… you owe it to yourself !!!!
HAHA! Brad, I love ya! That new Fusion is actually pretty hot. It was built on the Mazda 6 frame and actually handles pretty well. I don’t know the HHR at all. It looks too retro in that old looking way. Weird.
Tolo — jinx! I really really like the burnt orange too!
Brad/Aaron — I really want something that can haul stuff around. Kinda like a pickup truck, just not so trucky.
It’s cool to see that most of the newer cars from Chevy/Ford are getting good mileage, though.
