Oh, I can print-screen!!!
Jul 13th, 2005 by Jason
Now that I know how to print-screen in OS X (not quite as easy as hitting the PRNT SCRN key in Windows, but …) if you’ve never seen the Dashboard in action on a mac, check mine out. The dashboard (in general, not my particular one) kicks ass. Anytime you want to see it, you press F12 and it flies up, still letting you see whatever you were working on. Click on an empty area (or press F12 again) and it goes away. Microsoft, are you watching?!?!

Can you tell I’m still jazzed about my mini?
Hmmm, they’re about the price of a decent PDA. . . And I can get a carrying case from http://www.tombihn.com (the em2) . . .
It sure is tempting!
Ooooh, nice bags!!!!!!
Now I really want a PowerBook. Crap, this is getting expensive.
The BUZZ bag is awsome if you can travel light. I got one of those for Evelyn to go with the 3490ct that I’m willing to her, and it’s great - really comfortable to wear, too.
Personally, I have a couple of brain cells, a brain bag(gets used when we travel), an ID, an Eclipse that’s loaned out, and I’m currently using an EMPIRE Builder for my daily use. I switch to the ID when I don’t need to carry lots of papers/files. I buy these for folks at work that carry laptops, too.
They are awsome bags - the build quality is fantastic, and they make most bags available at BestBuy look like conference freebies! And, it’s a cool company, to boot.
Now that I know you guys know how to pilot around a Mac, I’ll be asking you questions, so you better be reachable! I really want a powerbook, but got a power mac instead. Still, since I’m a Mac virgin, you have to come over and show me how to work this thing!
Aaron - if that works for you (getting them to comver over and show you how to work it) I’ll get me a mac ASAP.
Yeah, I know that I’m dreaming. However, since I’ve been over there more than they have been over to neck of the woods….nevermind the fact that I’ve never really told them to come over…..they can make the hike. Maybe I can bribe them with food.
Shoulda got the powerbook — then you could travel.
Um, it’s called get in your car and drive over. It takes about 30 minutes if traffic is good. Besides, you’ve never been over before. You work right around the corner….sheesh.
Would a free plane ticket help get you to come visit?
You guys or Aaron? Chesapeake IS a drive, but I don’t think they have flights. J/K I really want to get Jason out to Portland to meet you guys, show him around the city, coast, and Mt. Hood, and oh yeah, meet the ‘rents. (shudder)
He starts a new job Monday (admin assistant at a local company where he gets to speak German and do Access databases — yay), so not sure when he gets vacation leave again. That, and we REALLY want to move. ASAP, like yesterday. Must have a REAL house. So not sure when we’ll be able to squeeze in a vacation. But Portland is my #1 choice.
Um, I know that you really want to go to Portland, but there are more pressing things to take care of here. Besides, Chesapeake is like a little vacation. I need your help with this Mac thing in case you haven’t read my blog. Oh, and is food a good enough bribe???
Ok.
I need help with my Mac Mini.
I can wait until Spring. Maybe.
