If you haven’t been to http://www.google.com/maps in the last day or two, … they’ve integrated their already kick-ass mapping system with … that’s right … SATELLITE PICTURES.
Type in an address, let it draw you the normal map, click on the “Satellite” link and then begin to ooooh and ahhhhhhh as the normal map is replaced with reality. Zoom in for much greater detail. Hold your mouse button down and move around to seamlessly pan around.
Wanna see our place from space? We barely made the cut. Google only has detailed maps for the most populated areas, and our house is a few blocks north of the cut-off for this area. If you click and drag the picture to the left, you can see how we’re only one Navy base (Dam Neck) (that link is a cool read, BTW) away from the ocean. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Jon, forget cable TV. This’ll keep you busy for HOURS. ![]()
I didn’t even notice the google copyrights when I was looking at maps around us… But they sure show up for your area.
Here is one near us: (We live close to a golf course)

Hey your house is on the other side of the road not where the pin puts it.
God would know.
But then again, maybe it’s good that the rest of the world DOESN’T. That way if I piss ‘em off, they’ll be egging the wrong house. mwah
