Blog boredom
Mar 20th, 2005 by Jason
I’m bored with my blog, thus the infrequent updates. Seems the iTunes display (because god knows a blog isn’t a blog unless 50 million random visitors can see what you last listened to) was my last hurrah for the last few weeks. Oh well, it happens. If they had keyboards for dogs, I’d have JAK be my guest blogger.
So although the last few weeks were great, there won’t be any blog details for them.
Skipping up to date, Jason and I just got back from great weekend (well, Saturday day/night) up in DC with our friend Chuck, who is getting ready to deploy for six months. As much as I like how the NAVY is always bringing cool people to this area, I really hate it when said cool people get taken away for six months as “part of their job”. Argh And, … did you know that you can get to DC in under 2 hours if you drive 90+ MPH the whole way? Even with a 30-minute Cracker Barrel breakfast stop, Chuck got us there faster than when Jason an I drive non-stop.
DC was a blast. We checked into an awesome hotel (JW Marriot) around noon’sh, had lunch with Chuck’s “special friend” (one very cool cat that he had met on a previous DC jaunt), and then Jason and I saw the sights while Chuck and said “special friend” saw Rent. For those keep track, sights = the World War II memorial, the National Gallery, and about 50 million tourists on the 3 mile walk between the two places (including my friend Guy). Jason and I retreated to the hotel for a quick nap/change of clothes, and then went off (in the wrong direction) in search of the nearest Chipotle. 5 miles of walking later, we said FUCK THIS and took the Metro up to DuPont Circle, where we knew exactly where a Chipotle was. After dinner we lounged at the hotel for a bit, then Metro/hoofed it up to JRs, where we met Chuck and Co. plus a few of Jason’s friends [Donnie, Rich, and Mike]. It was cool to meet them, but I was pretty wiped out from waking up at 6am and walking 8 miles that day, so I left Jason at JRs around 11:30’sh and headed home. Jason went with Donnie and Rich to Cobalt and ended up coming home around 1:30sh. ![]()
