European leaders on Friday hailed the expansion of the Schengen passport-free travel zone to nine mostly ex-East Bloc nations as a landmark moment for the continent’s integration.
When we took the train from Munich to Prague, one of the more interesting things (besides the chicks that would yell “Ahoy” out the window at every stop) was when we got close to the border and the German and Czech police walked thru the train, stamping passports out of Germany and into the Czech Republic. Guess they won’t be doing that anymore.
