I 3> (is that how you do a heart?) HDTV.

Most shows are getting ready to start their new season, and they look so freaking awesome in HD. Yay!
Now if DirecTV would carry our local HD stations so I don’t have to worry about aiming this separate external HD antenna, …
Family Guy’s tribute to Star Wars was flipping awesome, even though the guy who played Obi Wan drove me crazy. ![]()
The only issue I have with everything starting up and playing in HD (I still have COX) is that the DVR fills up in about 2 days as opposed to being able to record 2 weeks of shows normally in SD…
The 27 inch HD widescreen (yes.. small) upstairs always has “hourglasses” next to every recorded show (meaning it will be erased soon…).
The 16 plus year old 54 inch widesceen downstairs (SD) can record 2 weeks of shows easy… won’t be the case come December time frame when I jump to a 58inch 1080P Plasma!! Whoooyoo!
I talked to a guy on the AVSFORUMS that works for Cox who said he would replace both by DVRs with the latest ones from COX that have larger hard drives (my DVR downstairs is more than 4 years old I believe…). I wish I had taken him up on the offer before the new season shows had started.. trying to swap out a DVR and reprogram all your series recording back into it is a major biootch.
i think you do a heart like this LOL
damn your page wont show it! grr argh
I think the heart is like this: <3
Yeah, HD does take up a lot of space! I’ve got a USB over-the-air tuner on my iMac upstairs and 45 minutes of Fox 43 News at 10 is almost 6GB!
Downstairs we’re using DirecTV’s HD-dvr, and we can only keep about 2 episodes per “Season Pass”, otherwise the drive fills up. If you plug an eSATA drive into the back, it’ll start using it. I might end up having to do that.
The old DirecTiVo (SD) that Scott is using in his room is dying a slow death. We have a non-TiVo DirecTV DVR that I was trying to phase Scott over to before the new seasons started, but it didn’t happen. Hopefully he catches when his TiVo locks up before he misses anything. He gets really grumpy when that happens. Go figure — red-head from Jersey….
Family Guy last night ROCKED.
Can’t wait for Heroes tonight!!!!
Yeah.. I recorded the Family Guy to watch soon (Lori hates FG though..).
And the whole family watches HEROES!
How can someone hate Family Guy?!?
Actually, I used to hate Heroes. Well, not “hate”, but I definitely didn’t think I’d like it. Thankfully Scott’s Jedi mind-tricks convinced me that I would, and (shock) I did. Made the flight to Germany go a whole lot faster!!!
58″ 1080P plasma, huh? I hate you. hehehe I got a Panny 50″ 1080I plasma earlier this year. The price was right, the reviews were great, and Circuit City has 18 month no-interest financing. Little worried about the 1080i part, but I think that will only come into play with HD/BluRay DVDs… (right?) Nobody broadcasts at 1080p? Ugh, I’m such a noob.
the fact you said “noob” makes me violent.
oh and btw… I don’t even HAVE a TV so bitch more
love ya
Were you looking for newbie? Is that better?
And for the record, you had a borrowed TV and free cable service is included in your rent, so yes, I’ll bitch some more.
Free cable does you no good when there is no longer a TV to hook up to it
Since you watch pretty much everything on your notebook anyways, TVShows + Azureus pretty much equals TiVo. That’s what I use to snag Weeds since we didn’t subscribe to Showtime this season, and it works great!
You should talk Victor into installing that on his mini, since it’s turned on all of the time and can be torrenting during the day while you guys aren’t there. Then you can just APPLE-K to the mini, copy the file to your MBP, and off you go.
I hate to admit it, and I really dont want to go through setting it up with all my shows, but I think it’s time to replace the tivo with the DVr thingy. I had to reset it again this morning. Bah!
