Canon EOS 30D

(kinda sounds like a new bra, no? 30D. ha!)
Anyone here know much about digital SLR cameras? I think we’re going to get one. Our current Kodak SleasyShare is dying, Jason2’s wanted a DSLR for awhile, and DSLR threads keep popping up left-and-right on the macrumors forum. How many more signs do I need? 
After staying up way too late last night reading lots of reviews, forum posts, and asking around today at work, my numero uno choice (subject to change without notice) is the Canon EOS 30D. Before I pull the trigger, there’s a few photo experts that Jason2 works with at the Apple store, so I’d like him to query them, and I figured I’d ask here. So if you’ve got some DSLR experience, comment away.
