How weird is it to be watching the 5 o’clock news and see a 15-second Soviet-propoganda-style commercial for Kazakhstana run during every commercial break? It’s creepy.
It’s storming like holy hell outside. w00t I was totally jealous that Va Beach got hammered the night I came up here and I missed it, but this totally makes up for it! 
WTOP (AM/FM/internet) has THE BEST traffic woman every — I swear she’s really Joan Collins (can we talk?!). Besides her snide remarks about the traffic that make you want to pay attention to her, if there’s an accident, she gives you step-by-step directions on how to get around it. “OK, get into the left lane on 95 until you pass milemarker ###, then get ready to drive on the shoulder.” Yesterday she was giving directions on how to navigate thru a neighborhood to avoid an area congested because the power was out. LOL I’m sure the people that live there didn’t love that. 
Major fines ($200+) around here for cars not yielding to pedestrians in crosswalks, but everyone runs red lights like they don’t exist. WTF?
Class should be done before noon tomorrow, so I should be able to get home before DC/Richmond/Hampton Roads rush hours start. yay!
The city of Reston has a most amazing town center area. I wandered down there last night around 8’sh in search of some chicken pad thai from Big Bowl expecting everything to be dead. Wrong. Lots of awesome mid-scale restaurants with HUGE sidewalk seating areas full of people having fun. And still enough sidewalk to get around comfortably. Thousands of free parking spots too.
Wow, power just went out. Wonder if the hotels network is on UPS?
Can’t wait to get home tomorrow. I miss my boys!

although you may get out of class at noon, you will still hit HR traffic….. rush hour starts at 4 am and ends around midnight. lol…. Actually not lol.. im being serious.. good luck to you though.
