Getting closer…

Met (for the first time) the guy that owns the house that we want to buy. We were supposed to meet Saturday at noon at his place, but his kids had a lot of friends over, so we ended up at a local watering hole up the street a bit. 6 beers and 2 whiskey shots later (that’s just me .. he downed 4 double Gray Goose vodka martinis himself), we had it worked so that if he walks away with $260K (my full offer) and we can close Nov 30th the latest, it’s a deal. That worked for me, so .. it’s a deal. Yay!
That gives Jason2 and I a little over 90 days to find sell our place FSBO, but we’re sort of on hold w/ that until the new windows are installed 3-4 weeks from now. I’m hoping to sell our place for $189K, which is about $3K higher than similar townhouses are going in the area, but those don’t have a new kitchen, a new Trane HVAC, a new hot water heater, new windows, or painted trim. I’m thinking about having the roof redone too. Anyway, I think our townhouse will be an excellent deal.
