I went back a rev or 2 with no luck. It was not too big of an issue to me so I just forgot about it until I saw your post.

There are some crazy firmwares out there for the model I have but I was not to adventurous to try....

Ah yes, spring forward. Why that's a manual thing to do in WordPress is beyond me. Thanks for catching it. ;)

Argh. I didn't fully understand WDS before deciding "hey, that's what I need at home". Turns out that in WDS mode, every "slave" access point you add halves the bandwidth of the network. I was already irritated that 54mbps takes forever to move 2GB of data, ... 27mbps ain't gonna cut it.

Turns out what I need to setup is "roaming", where I have multiple access points (on different channels), all with the same ESSID and WPA keys and what not.

Roaming doesn't require the $200 Airport Extreme -- a $40 Linksys router will do.

BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT ... I've had repeated weird things happen with my Linksys routers, like people in Norfolk not being able to connect to the sites here, or just random weird slowdowns. The only downside I've found about the Apple is that you can't remote manage it (from the WAN side).

I'm debating on whether or not to return the Airport Extreme for one of the Linksys routers that can be flashed with all sorts of different router software. Guess I'll have to spend some quality forum time learning the ins and outs.

WolfMan, have you tried flashing back to an older version of the firmware?

My linksys (with latest firmware) will not let me into the Shopping Cart part of BestBuy's website. Will let me everywhere else though..

I remove the router and hook straight to the cable modem... no problems...only when the router is in place.

I tested a co-workers router (same model and firm ware) no problems...

Called LinkSys... they gave me the run around and will not replace it.

Very weird since I can get everywhere else (SSL ...every where...)
