First auction I won... I got scammed... ended up costing me about $18 dollars and grief. I won a brand new HP tank (lists for $220). I won it at $170 with $10 dollars shipping... The guy sent me a PayPal invoice... I attempted to pay but got an error. He immediately sends me an email saying his PayPal account is "down" and to send him a cashier's check... So I go and pay $3 dollars for a cashier's check..put it in the mail the same day. I send him an email that it is on the way.... no reply. So I wait.... still no reply. Then I notice that the same tank from the same guy has been relisted... I end up tracking down his phone number and call his house... get his mom...who hangs up on me when I tell her what was going on... I then cancel the check ($15 dollar fee and they hold the funds for 90 days!!). He finally emailed me a few days later saying he relisted it cause I would not pay.. ( he relisted within 9 hours of me winning the auction... and after I immediately agreed to pay....). I did the whole dispute thing with ebay but to no avail. Since then he has received about 5 negative feedbacks in a row from scamming people.... PS - I put his phone number on every telemarketer site I could fine...
