“Mike Shaw [ABC's president ad sales and marketing] announced today we are going to take a product to market in May,” Mr. Iger said at the Bear Stearns media conference in Florida this week. “Viewers will have the ability to access shows such as ‘Lost,’ ‘Desperate Housewives’ and ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ on ABC.com. They will be ad supported, free to the consumer.”
Story (currently diggfucked)
Hmmm. On Tuesday we get a souped up mac mini dying to get into people’s living rooms, and now we hear about free content that would play very well on said mac mini. Almost all of the shows I watch are now on iTunes. Why do I continue to pay $70+/month for satellite TV?
Well they arent exactly free on Itunes……
When he says they will be ad supported, I assume that means with commercials then? Hell I’ll pay the 1.99 on itunes for no commercials. Maybe i’m just lazy
Well, I assume that all this stuff isn’t in HD yet. Or even SD. What’s the sound track recorded in?
Is Alton Brown (Good Eats) on iTunes? How about random old movies? (I love putting in a search critiera in TIVO that’s just a year, to see what movies from say, 1958, are available to record.) Also, how will you ever see shows that they don’t have, but Satellite does have?
