With all of the rain over the last few weeks, our backyard is a dismal bog that only The Swamp Thing would appreciate.
This National Weather Service warning came this afternoon (and made me smile):
… Increased fire danger Saturday afternoon and Sunday for central
and southeast Virginia… northeast North Carolina… and the lower
Virginia and Maryland Eastern Shore…Dry and breezy conditions will continue across the mid Atlantic
this weekend. Sustained wind speeds between 15 and 20 mph… with
higher gusts can be expected late Saturday morning through the afternoon
hours… along with relative humidity values around 30 percent.
This will support an increased threat of fire danger across the
entire region
