The universe is an amazing thing.

I’m always amazed that the LESS I stress about the potential issues in my life (i.e. the logistics of buying a new house), how much cool shit seems to just “happen”, like getting a much larger tax refund than expected, or the stock at where I work starts going up for the first time in over a year.

gotta love when the unexpected happens, and in a positive way to boot. Cant argue with that.
Um, so are you buying out closer to us or what?! Maybe I could actually see you guys more than once a trimester.
Well, since we both live on the “outskirts” of civilization around here, any move for us will bring us closer to ya’ll.
We’re looking at the Kempsville area, … around Lake James or Lake Christopher. Lots of cool houses out that way, and the area in general is pretty centrally located on the Southside.
I used to live in Lake Christopher. I like Lake James better. The houses are a bit more modern, nicer neighborhood, and you have more ways around the intersection of kempsville and indian river.
Doesn’t Dollar Tree need a Portland, OR branch of the IT department? I know a couple good people that would be willing to help get it started. (You wouldn’t want on good hurricane to take out your whole IT staff would you?)
Actually, we have a big distribution center there that has one IT guy to take care of the few computer users there, but I don’t think they’d go for my salary. Or maybe they would. Very little of my job can’t be done remotely.
As for hurricanes, I’ll be writing a password-protected blog entry about that coming up shortly.
Personally, I think either Nevada, New Mexico, Southern Utah or Arizona badly needs something. . . . We’d all be a great addition! And think of all those pretty rocks and sand and sun, and fabulous amazing thunder storms. Colorado might work, too!
I’m up for eventually migrating to the SW (esp since we’ve been getting jipped on the t-storms here the last few years), but I think our next stop after here is either NYC, DC, Indy, or Yale so Jason2 can do his masters for classical music composition.
