Ramona Bell, 47, wife of Pahrump’s most renowned resident, Art Bell, died unexpectedly Thursday after an asthma attack.
Over the years the internationally known radio talk show host of Coast to Coast AM has reduced his duties on the show to Sunday nights and hosting specials, such as his annual Halloween and New Year prediction shows. However, Bell remains the gold standard by which other hosts are measured.
This part of the story didn’t come as a surprise:
Until her death, Art and Ramona Bell had not been apart a day since they were married.
Having been an Art Bell Show/Coast to Coast AM listener for the last 10 years (off/on), I almost feel like I knew Art and Ramona. Art’s broadcasts were almost like podcasts in that he did them from his home and they were subject to odd interruptions like when one of his cats would get tangled up in the wires and unplug his microphone, or Ramona would bring him something to drink and he’d snap a quick webcam picture of her. Their love for each other was so blatant that I can’t even begin to imagine how Art is coping. My prayers will be with him.
