I haven’t found a good plug-in for the Mac iTunes that displays what I’m currently listening to, so I’ve replaced that part of the sidebar with a list of the books that I’m currently chewing through (not that they’re all actually on my nightstand — some are actually on my computer desk ).
I used to read a lot as a kid (to the point that KinderCare would take my books away so that I’d have to play with the other kids), but as I got older, it appears that I traded my love for reading books for my love of computers. It’s been a very lonnnngggggggggggg time since I’ve read a book for pleasure. Thank god they didn’t change how they work.
Well, as the saying goes, everything old eventually becomes new again*, and I’m now having a blast getting back into the reading habit. For me, reading makes for an awesome computer -> bed transition, which has been helping me get to sleep easier. My mind isn’t racing a-mile-a-minute when my head hits the pillow (unlike sometimes when I stay on the computer until bedtime).
* I’m sure that’s probably not how the saying actually goes, but that’s how it goes in my head. ![]()
Hey, me too! How could that happen? Something cosmic, I guess.
Anyway - I just finished Blink, and I’m just about done with “The Paradox of Choice: Why more is less.” I highly recommend this one.
In the pile:
The Art of Project Management
French cooking in ten minutes
Eat that Frog (not related to french cooking!)
Rapid Problem solving with post-it notes (not sure this one’s worth the paper it’s printed on)
Getting things done
Ready for Anything
Um, how do I get that on my blog??? And was there something about a counter so I can see how many people don’t look? What about a photo album too??? All things that were mentioned, just lost track of.

Remind me again about the photo album.
