A huge “FUCK YOU” to the Savannah College of Art and Design for cluster-fucking their 2005 graduation today.
Apparently previous graudations took too long (a 4 hour “ticketed event” where everyone sits in a huge hall for 4 hours listening to the usual “go forth” speeches and waiting for 1,000+ students to walk across the stage), so they decided to ’speed things up’ this year by having a ticketed event where everyone sits in a huge hall for 2 hours listening to the usual “go forth” speeches, then shuttle bussing the crowd/students to different venues across the city (based on majors) where the students would walk.
For some reason, they decided NOT to require tickets for the “walk” event. Anyone see an obvious problem with that?
I can tell you that a few hundred parents who weren’t able to get seats to watch their kids walk did.
Abso-fucking-lutely incredible.
And FWIW, a 2 hour hall event + a 30 minute shuttle bus ride + a 1 hour “walk” event + a 30 minute shuttle bus ride back = 4 hours. They saved no time.
