Ugh… I’m hopelessly addicted to the SciFi Channel’s new Battlestar Galactica series…
I love the plot. I love the characters. I love the special effects. I love how each episode’s opening includes shots from that episode. And I’m TOTALLY IN LOVE with the background music. Yes, I know — this coming from the musically retarted guy.
DAMN YOU SCI-FI CHANNEL! I’m going to have a new home stereo system before the first season is over — I can feel it now.
p.s. “CHUPACABRA: DARK SEAS?” Really?!?! What the F are you guys thinking?
What’s wrong with the stereo you have? Is it a cheapo “HTIB” ? If it’s not, then maybe all you need are decent speakers. We can help you with that.
The problem with the stereo that we have is that we don’t actually have one, although the Sony TV downstairs can sometimes eerily pull off simulated surround sound. It’s spooky. I’d prefer to have real speakers behind me.
That sounds expensive.
(Receiver, cables, speakers, stands/brackets, etc.)
Not to mention more wires, wires, wires…
Oh. Well, I think you need a lot of help in the ’stereo’ category. If you want to go cheap (but amazing) HTIB, try one of the Denon 2 (that’s right 2!) speaker systems. I bought my mom one last year, and was blown away by how good it sounded for such a small system, and Dolby headphone is simply amazing. Really. Try it and see. If you want a demo of a vibrate your ass off system, come and visit. We’ll sit you in the ‘Throne’ and put on a movie that makes the living room floor (above the Home Theater) vibrate like someone’s nuked the airport. That would be, oh, something light and simple, like Finding Nemo, or for something more like world war III (Mr. Beans, the cat, runs and hides), Tears of the Sun or Attack of the Clones. Our IKEA chairs are wired for bass. But the subwoofer, hmmm, it’s just not like the others.
