So today I returned the iPod (and DirecTiVo).
After two days with the iPod, I can say with certainty that it’s an awesome product (great product build, excellent interface, … even the box it comes in is a work of art), but as into music as I’m not (i.e. my “who?” stare when Aaron mentioned seeing Josh Groban), it was like drinking water from a fire hydrant.
The DTiVo went back because as much as I love the idea of having a box that I could play on without having to worry about screwing up anybody’s recordings, there’s just been no “TiVo hacking” time in my schedule for quite awhile, so it didn’t make sense to keep it. Plus, if I didn’t return it soon, it would have been permanently lost, buried under papers and magazines. ![]()
