Apple getting sneaky?

Dec 14th, 2004 by Jason

I needed to download QuickTime for my work laptop today, so I went to Apple’s site and mindlessly clicked the download button. Surprise, surprise — unless you read the page and go out of your way to click a much smaller link, when you download QuickTime, you’re actually downloading iTunes + QuickTime.

Seems like a page out of Microsoft’s playbook.

sneaky bastards. before you know it you’ll be downloading OSX unawares and turn a new leaf and be the happiest man alive.

That’s be a neat trick. “Updates have been installed, please reboot your computer.” and it boots up into OSX.

I will hesitantly admit that I’m Mac-curious, but usually only when I’m really drunk.

Does mac make a TabletPC yet? I used to be curious, but now that I’m smitten with my new TabletPC (Toshiba M200), I’m not curious anymore. And I never liked the Ipod that much. Too slippery, but the interface is nice.

apple has gone on record with hating the whole notion of tablet PCs and thinking that they’re a waste of time and money. I think this is code for “will revolutionize tablet PCs in 9 months.”

Back in August, they (Apple) filed a patent for something that looks an awful lot like an Apple Tablet PC.

I wonder if it will come in colors like an IPOD. Ohhh, think of all the accessorizing you could do!
