Hello Joe!
Nov 14th, 2004 by Jason
Spent last week in training (Course 2072: Administering a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Database), which was a nice repreive from my regular work week. 1 day into the class and I was kicking myself for not haven taken it sooner — it would have been a HUGE HUGE help for when I was struggling through that AT&T PrePaid Phone Card project a few months ago. C’est la vie.
Jason (looking hot as hell) and I met up with Joe, Scott and Co. Friday night at the Red Dog (in the middle of a flipping Indian monsoon). I had a great time, but was tired as hell and ended up sitting next to a chain-smoking chimney, so we didn’t stay too long. Jason and Joe went shopping on Saturday, came back and hung out here for a bit, and ended up going to The Cheesecake Factory with Ian and myself. Even though the wait was 65-80 minutes (apparently that’s the non-punani way of saying “an hour to an hour-and-a-half”), and it being cold enough to film “The Day After” outside, we had a great time. “Ate too much, drank too much” pretty much sums up my experience.
Was playing with JAK in the yard this afternoon when a neighbor I’ve never really met before and I started talking — for an hour, over our fences — my first Tool Time moment. He (Woody, who is 6′5″ and had no problem talking over the fence, while I had to be on my tippy-toes the whole conversation [how do ballerinas do that???]) had just finished assembling a 8×10 foot shed. The shed looked awesome, although Sean (our roommate) wasn’t happy because he didn’t drag his happy ass to bed until 6AM and Woody starting hammering and sawing around 11AM. mwah
So what did you learn that was so valuable? (Anything you can share with us un-educated?)
Of course it is just about time to learn SQL 2005.
