This is the week I really feel like giving up. Work sucks (was remotely involved in yet another huge (!!!) incident .. I honestly worked on my resume the day after it happened), my throat’s been killing me, I’ve done absolutely nothing with my diet or exercise, the house is a fucking mess, laundry’s been in the washer waiting to be dried since Saturday night, there’s not enough time to play with JAK, Jerry’s being a fucking CUNT about something (I’m not sure what — I don’t speak CUNT, but if he doesn’t shut his whining up, I’m going to buy one of those “STOP YOUR DOG FROM BARKING BY SENDING A PIERCING SOUND ONLY THEY CAN HEAR” things from Sharper Image and modify it for whining cat sounds). I feel like getting in the Jeep, driving down to Sandbridge, 4-wheeling across the sand and see exactly how far I can get the Jeep into the ocean. (OK, that might be a little too dramatic, but it sounds good).
On the brighter side, the quasi-trashy folks on end unit of our row of townhouse (not the hottie and his wife next door — this is the other end) moved out. Although TP looking, they were ambigiously nice people (we’ve loaned them TP before, and they paid us back), but their yard/driveway is always a mess, and they have this mean dog that patrols their fenced-in side yard. It’s only a 3-ft fence, and it’s like a 4-ft dog. If anyone walks by (which is hard not to, since this house is on the end, and the sidewalk goes by their place), the dog will start barking like Cujo, run up and look like his going to jump the fence. The end result is that it scares the hell out of people walking by, and the constant barking is irritating to everyone else. Kids will purposefully walk on the OTHER side of the street, and JAK gets nervous when we’re within 20 feet of that yard. Anyway, the scoop is that their house is getting foreclosed on and their mom is going to buy it for some incredible cheap price and then rent it out, but apparently not to them. They found a cheap house to rent a few streets away. LOL! If I had been keeping up with the gossip, I would have know that their 4-wheeler ATV had been repo’ed a few weeks ago (repo men aren’t so quiet at 1am apparently), so the foreclosure wasn’t a big surprise for the rest of the folks on our row. Nobody seems upset about them leaving, and the rumors are already flying about who’s REALLY going to buy their house.
I’m incredibly pissed at Fleet, the company with whom I’ve had a credit card for awhile now. They checked my credit a few months ago, didn’t like that my overall credit card balances compared to credit card limits, so they’ve decided to make my 9.99% APR something like 18.99%. I understand that there is probably some business model justifying this, but it pisses me off on more than a few levels. 1 - I’ve been making HUUUUUGGGEEEEEEEEE monthly payments for the last five months 2 - I’ve never ever ever ever (in my 18 years of credit) had a late payment 3 - it’s not like I was fucking around a few months ago when this happened … I was focusing on paying off/closing TWO other credit cards (which I did). Hopefully I’ll be able to call them tomorrow and straighten this off. If not, I’ll close the account and focus on paying it off, which will only take 3 months, and that’ll be the last bit of interest that they earn from me.
Off to a Nyquil induced stupor. ![]()
