(tap tap tap) … is this thing on?

Hung out last night with Jason, our friend Kellie, and her fabulous friend Lucy. Our evening began with a bang (someone getting shot in a parked car, just as we drove next to it) and ended with a bang (HarborFest fireworks). We had talked about the fireworks over dinner at Orapax, but nobody seemed thrilled about dealing with the crowd, so after dinner we mosied on over to the new Cold Stone at 21st West (kudos to them for having 20+ people working, so even though it was busy, it only took ~5 minutes to get in and out). As wonderful as Cold Stone ice cream is, 20+ people singing loudly everytime they get tipped is obnoxious, so we ended up walking up a few shops and bogarting 4 seats from Starbuck’s outdoor cafe. We camped there for a good bit, swapping stories and enjoying the evening — and getting a very good (although unexpected) view of the HarborFest fireworks, sans obnoxious crowd (yay!). I’m still confused as to how Norfolk can market the fireworks as the “biggest show on the whole eastern seaboard”, though. Perhaps they meant “biggest show in the eastern seaboard for June 13th, 2004″? ![]()
