Having seen many blogs with awesome “About Me” pages, I feel cheap and dirty for making my “About” button just a link to a blog entry sans creative background and gratuitous photos.
Anywho. ..
Me llamo Jason Thorn, and I currently reside in Virginia Beach, VA (the city I’m originally from). My partner Jason and I have a townhouse that our two cats graciously let us (and our dog) share with them. We love our place — great neighbors, only a bike ride from the beach, every store we’d ever need within 3 miles — but it’s too damn far away from our friends, so we’re hoping to move in the next year or so. This means that we have to finish all of the projects that we’ve started, so who knows if we’ll ever move.
I’m a total geek, although I’ve never taken the time to figure out what my GEEK code thingie would look like. My current addictions are PHP/mysql and Windows Mobile Smartphones. If you see me out to dinner with Jason and our friends (which my Microsoft Money says we do too often), chances are I’m carrying my SPV e100, which, during the course of the meal, will be confiscated by Chuck so that I’ll pay attention.
As much as I like geeking out, I also dig the outdoors, which is one of the main reasons why I love Virginia Beach. From mid-April until mid-October, it’s warm and there’s so much to do: swimming, kayaking, mtn biking, or just driving around in the Jeep with the top/doors/windows off. For mtn biking, this area is really flat, which normally makes for boring rides, but there’s lots of history (Jamestown, Yorktown, First Landing, etc) to make up for it. Weird to know that you’re biking over a field where people fought/died during the Revolution 200+ years ago.
[not finished, will write more later]
